Region 9 Summer Meeting – New Orleans
In mid July, despite the threat of a tropical system, (only a little rain one day) we had an awesome weekend in the French Quarter, New Orleans, at the Royal Sonesta Hotel.
Thanks SEDA for hosting us, and congratulations on their 50th year GMO celebration!
Fun, festivities, Region 9 Summer Meeting/networking, great food, good music, comradiere, and making lifelong friends.
The networking was invaluable. Sharing and taking home ideas…priceless.
It was voted on to hold next year’s Region 9 Summer meeting in San Antonio, hosted by Alamo Dressage Association.
Some of the places visited:
Bourbon Street, French Market, Royal Street Galleries, Cafe Du Monde (famous for chicory coffee & beignets covered in powdered sugar, since 1862), Oak Alley Plantation – 250 years old, Garden District, Bourbon House Restaurant, The City of New Orleans Paddle wheel boat/ dinner cruise on the Mississippi River, The Original Pierre Maspero’s Restaurant, NOLA City Cemetery, Jackson Square, & St Louis Cathedral – oldest cathedral in the US.
