FWDC Adult Camp – October 2022

Fort Worth Drressage Club organized and held our Adult Camp at Noble Champions in Cedar Hills, Texas in October. Our clinician was Janet Foy.

Noble Champions is a boarding facility with emphasis on dressage and horsemanship. There is actually a horsemanship program that is very active with many young riders – they even had a show while we were there, many parents cheering these young riders on. They teach basic horsemanship and focus is Eventing. What was wonderful was some of these young riders came and watched our dressage riders! FWDC received grants from Region 9, USDF GMO Education Initiative and The Dressage Foundation. All much appreciated.

Weather was great, this facility has a full size enclosed arena with good footing and mirrors and viewing area. Stabling was provided that was close to arena. There was a round pen for lounging.

We had 8 riders, from Second Level to schooling Grand Prix.

Several auditors came and went, think we had total of 25.

The format was arriving on Thursday, lessons on Friday and Saturday, and Ride a test on Sunday. She interacted well with all riders at all levels, had exercises for every challenge. And fielded questions from the auditors.

Lunches were provided each day. Saturday after last ride Janet Foy gave a talk on how she came into dressage and what it takes to become a judge. Was very informative and enjoyable.

We also had a demonstration on Magna Wave therapy for horses.

Camp was very successful. Evaluations were all excellent.

Much thanks to Region 9 for supporting our Camp!
