Participating Membership The USDF membership year begins on December 1 and ends on November 30. Benefits Join USDF with a Participating Membership to get all of the benefits USDF offers: • One year of USDF Connection – USDF’s members-only magazine • Yearbook issue of USDF Connection • Complimentary USDF Directory • Member-discount rates for USDF events • 10 percent discount on merchandise (Some exclusions apply) • Eligibility to earn USDF University Program credit • Eligibility to participate in USDF Rider Award programs • Eligibility to compete for all awards (Other requirements may apply) • Eligibility to qualify for Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championships (Other requirements may apply) Cost • Youth Participating Membership ($35) – For individuals who have not reached their 21st birthday by December 1 of the current membership year. • 1-Year Participating Membership ($62) • 5-Year Participating Membership ($250) • Lifetime Participating Membership ($1000) Group Membership Organizations (GMOs) GMOs – USDF has approximately 130 affiliated dressage clubs, or Group Member Organizations (GMOs), across the United States and Canada. These clubs submit their membership rosters to the USDF office. By joining your local GMO, you automatically become a group member (GM) of USDF. GMO benefits include: • USDF Connection – USDF’s members-only magazine, • Eligibility to participate in rider award programs • Eligibility to earn USDF University Program credit • Member-discount rates at USDF events Horse RegistrationUSDF Horse Identification Number ($20) The USDF Horse Identification (HID) number is a one-time tracking number and minimum required registration for horses to participate in USDF-recognized/ USEF-licensed competitions. While this level of registration will not allow a horse to compete for Adequan®/USDF Year-End Awards or to qualify for Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championships, it will allow USDF to record and track scores for all horses competing. An HID can be upgraded to a USDF Lifetime Horse Registration (LHR) for a fee of $65. For exceptions to the HID requirement, please refer to Chapter 4 of the Competitions Handbook USDF Lifetime Horse Registration ($85) The USDF Lifetime Horse Registration (LHR) is a one-time registration fulfilling the USDF horse registration requirements for all USDF award and championship programs. Please review individual program information for owner/rider requirements. **There are additional USEF horse recording requirements for Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional qualifying and championships classes.
