Jr / YR Team Benefit Show a Success!
On a beautiful Saturday, May 30, at Topsider Farm in College Station, Michele Voorhees and Ginni Cifelli graciously hosted a fund-raiser schooling show for the FEI Juniors and Young Riders. The show had over 30 rides from Intro to Second level. Grace Harris, an “L” grad from Austin, TX was the judge. Audrey Jones, Cindy Nommensen, Kathy Jones, Ben Winger and Joan Darnell, the Region 9 FEI JR/YR Coordinator were there as volunteer staff to score, scribe, run and gate keep. A delicious lunch was served with the proceeds to benefit the FEI Juniors and Young Riders. Thanks so much to Michele and Ginni for a wonderful show and their support for our young team members. They were able to donate over $600 for the FEI Jr/YR Fund.
Jr / YR Benefit at Paragon Stables a Success!
Melanie Lipar and Anna Burtell of Paragon Stables in Conroe generously donated their time and facility to sponsor the Region 9 FEI Junior/Young Rider Freestyle Fund-raiser on June 6. Over 100 people reserved spots for the fabulous luncheon and Junior/Young Rider fashion show along with the “Dancing with the Dressage Stars” Freestyle Extravaganza. Eight of the Juniors and Young Riders showcased their choice for the jog outfit during the lunch. Audrey Jones, Mary Kathryn Nommensen, John Mason, Kassidy Peacock, Julia Handt, Faith Morris, Elizabeth Allen and Rachel Campbell paraded down the spiral staircase and among the luncheon attendees to fashion runway music. The audience voted at the end for their favorite outfit which was worn by Faith Morris. The jog outfit for the 2009 Region 9 teams will consist of khaki pants, black blazer, red shirt and scarf.
