Summer Meeting
Region 9 Summer meeting Aug 9, 2014

Our meeting has now moved to the Sheraton Gunter in downtown San Antonio. For those who have
been counting, this is our third hotel. Apparently all the contracts that Jennifer Delmer arranged and
signed have little meaning in the hotel business! However, those who held reservations at the previous
hotels should have received updated information about their current reservation at this hotel.

The Sheraton Gunter is located in the heart of downtown San Antonio, near the Alamo and the River
Walk. It was built in 1909 and after a recent multi-million dollar renovation, combines the grace of the 1900s with the luxurious amenities of today.

The address is 205 E. Houston, San Antonio, TX 78205. Ph 210-227-3241. For your gps, use
the parking garage at 311 N. St. Marys St, San Antonio.

There will still be a welcome party Friday evening -- and don't forget items for the Silent Auction!
The meeting will begin at 8 am Saturday morning, August 9.

Remember the Silent Auction: The income from the items benefits our Education Fund -- which in turn benefits the GMOs ! All sorts of clever gifts have been well received in the past -- a wonderful brass door knocker was a hot item one year and vinyl bags made from feed bags drove bidding wars another year. A great variety of items appear and the bidding is both fun and beneficial.

Bee Pape Scholarship Fund
In honor of Bee Pape - who was a foundation stone for dressage in Region 9. A wonderful, kind, and generous lady, always there to help She gave countless hours to all of us, and to this sport we love. Bee's children – Susan Peacock, Sarah Pape Hester and William Pape and their families – asked that memorial donations to be made to the "Bee Pape Scholarship Fund" for use in Region 9. Bee was a great supporter of grass roots dressage, and Susan asked that a fund be set up to help our grass root members. Specifics of the fund, will be released later. We are thrilled about this opportunity for our regional members. And truly appreciate the generosity of Susan, and her family. And of your donations, to a much needed scholarship.
