In prior years Gary Rockwell and Maryal Barnett were the distinguished presenters. This year we are proud and honored to announce that Hilda Gurney will be presenting. Hilda has requested that riders, if they wish, submit a DVD of a 2011 test at any level that was ridden at a recognized or unrecognized show, along with your score sheet, if available, to ADU before February 1. The test, if selected by ADU, will be used as part of this teaching seminar. This is a unique opportunity to have insight from one of our country's most distinguished riders and judges. GMO Challenge
Region 9 is very fortunate to have the opportunity to be hosting the Adult Education clinic Lilo Fore. Lilo is a gifted teacher and all in audience will gain a tremendous amount of knowledge from Lilo’s eye, teaching techniques and from what a judge and breeder are looking for. We would like to encourage a huge audience and participation in this clinic to show how much dressage is important and supported in our Region. USDF recently implemented a National Dressage Championship and being located Centrally in the country we would like to be looked at as a mecca all can come to for dressage participation and support.
So we would like to challenge ALL Region 9 GMOs to encourage their members to come audit and participate in this exciting and educational clinic. The GMO that has the largest amount of auditors will be awarded $500.
Lilo will be presenting the Classical System Simplified, “Tricks of the Trade” to enhance a horses understanding of the riders expectations, the importance or half steps in early stages of training to help develop the feel of engagement and collection, the importance of lateral exercises and throughness and the basics as applied to the Pyramid of Training while moving up the levels.

Bee Pape Scholarship Fund
In honor of Bee Pape - who was a foundation stone for dressage in Region 9. A wonderful, kind, and generous lady, always there to help She gave countless hours to all of us, and to this sport we love. Bee's daughter - Susan Peacock and her family asked that memorial donations to be made to the "Bee Pape Scholarship Fund" for use in Region 9. Bee was a great supporter of grass roots dressage, and Susan asked that a fund be set up to help our grass root members. Specifics of the fund, will be released later. We are thrilled about this opportunity for our regional members. And truly appreciate the generosity of Susan, and her family. And of your donations, to a much needed scholarship.
